And Then There Was One...

This pretty cat is living in a home with 5 dogs.
She is my cousin's cutie pie.
She's been in the family since birth.
She's a bit of a loner & enjoys her days outside
being adventurous.
Her Mother was given to a new home;
One where she could be the only pet.

A Doggy-Dog World

My cousin has five dogs... one is a new arrival that adopted them.
I do not have a photo of him.
My cousin has a soft heart for animals, especially dogs.

This is Dixie & she has been living with her family for years.
Her buddy, Amy, passed away from cancer a few years back
& she now spends her time alone usually sleeping.
When Amy was alive she loved hunting &
running around all over the land playing.
She is always a sweetheart & was a wonderful companion for Amy.

This adorable guy loves to fetch, loves attention,
loves to play, loves people
& loves to cry for help out of the yard.
He's got to be where the action is --People action that is.
Sassy is the lap dog of the family.
She is also the boss of all the dogs. Short but Mighty!
Originally she belonged to an abusive family
that broke her leg as a way to potty train her.
She was later adopted by her new mother that puts the 'S' in Spoil.
Sassy has been in dog heaven since she found her Mamma.
Pretty, isn't she? Don't touch --you may get bitten.
Milo only likes her family, no one else.
She is VERY protective... The Guard dog of the family.
I had to use a zoom lens on this cutie.
Even as a pup she was the protector;
Just became more skilled as she grew.

Best Friends; Believe It or Not

Rosie is my cousin's Shetland Pony.

JR is the neighbor's Jack Russell.Rosie shares her food with JR by putting some in her mouth,
then placing it on the ground for JR to reach.

JR likes to sleep with Rosie, sometimes even on top of her.
The neighbor's get upset with JR
because he spends more time with Rosie than with his owners.

This is a video of Rosie & JR playing together.

Tigger

Tigger is from a litter of a stray calico cat. The same calico also had Angel from a different litter. Tigger is a couple years older than Angel. He was born in 1998-1999. The stray had her litter in the back of Mom's truck. When there was a tornado warning for the area of Denton, Texas, I grabbed all the kittens and brought them inside our house. They were around 1 to 2 weeks old and they all had a bad eye infection. Not one of them could open their eyes. We had to take them to the vet's and get some sab to put on them twice daily. Meanwhile, the momma cat kept crying for them. SO we returned two of her kittens and kept the other three, Tigger, Dusty, and Miss Pandy who was the runt of the litter. We had to force feed Pandy to keep her alive. Tigger was the biggest & healthiest of the litter. He was so eager to eat at feeding time that he litterally scalped poor Dusty & Miss Pandy with his claws to beat them to the food. All grown up, Tigger has not changed much. He still believes he is top cat & will swat at the other cats to claim his area on the bed or at the food. He is a brat, but very loveable to humans and to Paco. He will also boss around Buddy, but Shorty will put Tigger in his place.

Shorty

Shorty is around 15 years old. She is actually my Mom's dog. I have been taking care of her and my Mom's cat Tigger for a year and a half now. Shorty is going blind and death and even lost some teeth, but still is hyper and playful like a puppy. In fact, most people think she is a puppy because she's so small. We have a few nicknames for this little cutie: Short Stuff, Short Cakes, Shorty Cakes, Grandma, Phyllis Diller, and Little Ewok. She really LOVES people food and cat food... and other cat things that is too gross to mention. I have to keep a close I on this one, or my cats will have no food to eat. Though she likes to maintain the litter box, I try to keep her out of that as well. YUK! Short Cakes absolutely loves to sleep in the cat beds, which seem to be the perfect size for her. She also, loves to go for drives. I have to sit her in my arms so she can see. Short Stuff also enjoys long walks... though she is a bit slow from all the sniffing. I took her to the beach for the first time a year ago. She absolutely loved it... even the cold water. I plan on taking her again when it warms up. Shorty is an absolute doll that begs maybe a tad too much, but we still give in.

Fat Cat

Kiki started off skinny, frail, & almost completely bald when we took him in. Now he's chunky, strong, full of personality and MAN! his fur is super thick! What a diference from when we first found him. I'm not sure why he was abandoned, because he's a really sweet cat. He is such a good boy who adapts well with our other furry buddies. He loves to sleep on top of our dog Buddy or on top of Clark - who he ADORES. Kiki also loves to sleep for hours on top of the cat tree in front of the window. His passion is going outside & searching underneath the house.
